Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable owner-drivers to join our team at Metro Express.

As a driver for Metro, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to our valued clients. Although there are opportunities to operate company vehicles, the perfect candidate would be responsible for and be expected to operate their own vehicle. We are always on the hunt for drivers with the following:

1 Tonne Ute

Tray Trucks

Tautliners

Crane trucks

Tail lifts

Prime movers and semi-trailers

Responsibilities

Safely operate and maintain assigned vehicles

following all traffic laws and company guidelines.

Efficiently load, unload, and transport goods

to designated locations while adhering to delivery schedules.

Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections

to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the vehicle.

Maintain accurate records

of deliveries, mileage, and hours of service, utilising electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs as required.

Communicate effectively

with dispatchers, customers, and team members to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's licence

with the appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated.

Own and operate

your own vehicle.

Minimum of 1 year of truck driving experience

with a clean driving record.

Strong commitment to safety

and compliance with transportation regulations.

Ability to adapt

to changing schedules.

Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance

and the ability to perform routine inspections.
