Since 1988, Metro Express has grown to become one of the most trusted and respected transport and logistics companies in all of Australia.
I knew if I created a company that put the customer’s needs first, we’d be the best in the industry. That was over 30 years ago and whilst the technology now allows us to do so much more, flexibility, service and great people are still our winning formula.
Managing Director
Launch
Using an old kitchen table in the corner of a rented warehouse, Martin Overman launched Metro Express in 1988, 3 days before his first child was born on one of the coldest winters on record.
Growth
Metro Express was now a small team becoming known for flexibility and service. As the demand increased, so the need to expand was clear.
Sydney
Sydney branch launched at the beginning of 2002, catering for the busy coast trading route. This allowed Metro Express to offer a more complete end-to-end service.
Melbourne & Adelaide
In 2002 Melbourne branch launched as the demand for services grew further South, so the natural next step was Adelaide that opened shortly after.
Service
In 2010 Metro Express celebrated 15 years service with 3 clients, who are still part of the business today. It is that mutual loyalty that has allowed Metro Express to continually evolve the services that are offered.
Floods
Flooding devastates the Brisbane office. A long road of recovery was met with more flooding soon after. With a united team, Metro Express pulled through and remained committed to deliveries working from home and temporary offices.

With our team of support and co-ordination personals, Metro Express is proud to boast one of the safest most trained fleet of drivers in the industry as well as a new health and wellbeing for our staff.

Managing Director
As the founder of Metro Express, Martin has worked to build the company from the ground up. He had the vision early on to employ the best and build a motivated team with a can-do attitude.
Joshua Overman
Group Financial Controller
Joshua leads the finance and administration team at Metro Express. His passion for analysing the numbers ensures that Metro Express achieves its goals. He sees to it that the operations team are supported so they can focus on providing the best service to our clients.
Russell Queale
Group Operations Manager
Working from our Brisbane office, Russell is head of operations. His logistics experience has helped guide the team to become renowned for flexibility and outstanding service. Russell leaves nothing to chance.
Mat Dunbar
National Compliance Manager
With over 10 years of experience in transport, Mat oversees compliance & WH&S for the entire business. Prior to joining us Mat has worked in multiple large interstate / local transport businesses. Mat helps coordinate / report and drive safety & compliance within Metro Express.
Matt Erbacher
State Manager - Queensland
Matt leads our Queensland branch. With a strong background in local and interstate logistics operations, he brings a focus on efficient supply chain management and compliance. When he is not at work he loves spending time with his young family.
Reyne Finlay
State Manager - New South Wales
Reyne heads up our Sydney branch with a degree of passion and experience that enables him, together with his team, to take on the Sydney transport market. He is at the forefront of transport and delivery in this competitive environment.
Ben Berger
State Manager - South Australia
Ben heads up our Adelaide branch. His passion and experience have enabled him to motivate his team and lead by example, showing that at Metro Express, we are always adapting to change.
